Coconut’s Fish Cafe, a Hawaii-based chain featuring fish tacos and a tropical ambiance, says it is looking to enter the Sacramento-area market.

Maui-based Coconut’s says it will review franchise applications for various regional communities, including Sacramento, Elk Grove and Rancho Cordova.

The company said the tropical fast-casual concept was started in 2009 by Sacramento native Michael Phillips in Hawaii.

Besides Hawaii, Coconut’s Fish Cafe operates restaurants in Scottsdale, Ariz., and in the Texas cities of Dallas and Plano. For more information, see coconutsfishcafe.com/home.
